In addition to a successful music career, James Hogan is also a fine music teacher. James was a senior instructor at The National Guitar Workshop's Florida, Connecticut, Nashville, Washington D.C. and SUNY Purchase campuses. Additionally, Hogan teaches seminars across the U.S. and abroad each year. James Hogan is an Adjunct Professor of Guitar at The University Of North Florida and at Florida State College in Jacksonville, FL where he has been on staff since 2000. Hogan's "50 Jazz Rock Licks You Must Know" and "50 All-Purpose Pentatonic Licks" courses are available through! 

James Hogan holds a Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Performance (Summa Cum Laude) from the highly acclaimed University Of North Florida Jazz Performance program where he was a Collegiate Downbeat Award winner, full scholarship recipient and student of jazz guitar virtuoso Barry Greene. (2000)  

James offers private guitar instruction to students in the Jacksonville, Fl area. In addition, James offers online lessons via skype/facetime to students abroad.
